THE STARS

I don’t know about you, but I love it when the night spreads its starry sky over my house. Not every night is like that. It’s almost as if the darkness decides it’s tired of just being black, so it pulls its prettiest tablecloth out of its drawer and spreads it across the night sky.

I’m not a stargazer, nor do I know the constellations. I just like to look at the stars. Sometimes I wonder what they’re doing. And they’re looking at us, too. What secrets they hold, and where they hide.

There’s a little one right back there. She’s winking at me from the distance. So I gave her your name. I hope she smiled at me, that she has her own name now.
